Rest in Grace

You know those days you feel discouraged?

You try something new and it doesn’t turn out how you hoped.

You get the news you’ve been hoping wouldn’t come.

You continue to hear criticism even though you are expending all your time and energy to do things right.

You can’t keep your house in order and your kids are acting like they’ve never heard the word “no”.

Grace is one of those difficult things that I believe our culture takes grace the wrong way. We think that because grace exists, we can use it as an excuse. We have twisted it and made it into this skewed way of living below God’s standards.

I know you and I will never be perfect here on earth. I know you and I will never fully meet God’s standards. I know you and I will continue to sin and continue to fall short.

Grace exists when we try and fail (2 Corinthians 12:9). Grace cannot be earned, but is given freely (Ephesians 2:8-9). Grace comforts us in times of discouragement and need (Hebrews 4:16). Grace gives us the strength to press forward, when we feel we can’t (2 Timothy 2:1).

Rest in that Truth today. Let yourself find true rest in grace, that is abundant and sufficient (Romans 5:17, 2 Corinthians 12:9)

It’s for me and it’s for you, today, tomorrow and forever.

Have a blessed day,
-Sadie
